Administrative Council

The Administrative Council is the executive and administrative body of FOYA Cyprus. There are seven members who sit on the council, which includes the President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and three active regular members.

The council members are elected for a two year renewable term at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the association, which is held at the beginning of each year. Our 1st AGM was held on Monday, February 6th, 2012. Click here for more information and to view the minutes of our meeting. All active members (being members who have paid their annual membership) can attend the AGM and participate in the elections.

The council itself meets regularily every six months and at extraordinary sessions when deemed necessary by the President. Council meetings are open to all members, who also retain the right to petition the council to discuss any matter of importance to FOYA Cyprus.

Click the below to view our constitution and find out more information on the inner-workings of FOYA Cyprus. The constitution is currently available in Greek and English. We plan to have it available in Turkish as well in the very near future.

The General Assembly

The General Assmelby of Members is the main decision-making body of the organization and exercises its power through the Annual General Meeting and any Extraordinary General Meetings. The general members give power to the Administrative Council to act on its behalf on all administrative and executive matters. The members also approve the financial statement of the organization, elect the specific members of the Administrative Council and can propose and make changes to the Constitution.

Becoming a member does not mean that you will have to take on extra responsibilities, in simply means that you believe in our principles and ideas and desire to support the organization. The benefit of becoming a member is that you are not merely a spectator. As a member you can participate in the Annual General Meeting, be involved in key decisions and elect the members of the Administrative Council. You are also able to bring any item to the general body for discussion and propose action items for the group to vote upon.

Click on the About us section to download your membership form. Simply fill in all your details and send the form to the FOYA Cyprus secretary at secretary@foyacyprus.com. Also under the About us section, you can also pay your annual membership fee online via PayPal. If you do not have a PayPal account don't worry, you can create one through the link in seconds.
